It aims to train journalism professionals (radio and press), information and communication technicians, seeking to respond to regional needs in a context where these areas have a major impact on development and innovation.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
To provide training in the area of Social Communication, with a view to developing skills for carrying out work in the theoretical and practical fields, in an attempt to understand critically and intervene in the multiple phenomena of communication;
To know and master professional realities, particularly in the fields of journalism and strategic communication, integrating their conceptual and practical dimensions. -
Career opportunities
Training of professionals of higher education in journalism and information and communication technicians in diverse contexts of professional insertion: commercial, industrial or social communication companies or services of the Central or Local Administration.

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

Admission requirements
Entrance exams Two of the following exams: 18 Portuguese and One of the following exams: 04 Economics 06 Philosophy 09 Geography 11 History Minimum marks Application grade: 100 points Entrance exams: 95 points Calculation formula Secondary school average: 50% Entrance exams: 50% Other forms of access: - Re-entry and Change of Institution/Course Pair; - Special Access Competition for Graduates of Vocational Pathways; - Special Access Competition for CTeSP Holders; - Special Access Competition for Exam Holders over the age of 23; - Special Access Competition for Holders of Other Higher Education Courses; - Special Competition for International Students.
