Pós-Graduação em Negócios e Finanças Empresariais

    Degree details

  • Degree objectives

Increasing globalisation, both in economic and social terms, facilitates the movement of goods, people and capital across the globe and creates countless opportunities for companies from different countries to reach new markets beyond their domestic markets, contributing to business development and the establishment of partnerships that were previously less accessible. On the other hand, the current context, characterised by uncertainty and constant innovation in products and processes – and, in particular, the development of new information and communication technologies (ICT) – is changing the way business is conducted and increasing the speed at which it is carried out, bringing markets and partners closer together, and making it possible today to monitor the value chain of companies’ activities more effectively.
This context has also led to a growing number of entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, though in some cases they lack certain management skills. Consequently, in today’s business environment—characterised by constant change and global competition—it is essential to identify the risks affecting organisations’ operations so that entrepreneurs can make decisions that turn potential threats into profitable opportunities. However, the success of organisations depends not only on the formulation of strategies, but also on the alignment of their resources with their respective organisational objectives. Consequently, this course aims to present and explore various topics in organisational management, and in particular corporate finance, which contribute to a deeper understanding of how businesses operate and the key factors for sustained success and the creation of financial value in the business context. Finally, it should be noted that this curriculum takes into account the business development model and the digital tools created under the ENVOLVER project, funded by the European Union and involving the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, IAPMEI and its Angolan counterpart, INAPEM, and which aims to contribute to the diversification of the Angolan economy by stimulating private initiative and providing financial support.
