Degree objectives
The economic importance of tourism in Portugal calls for qualified professionals. This course has a clear vocational focus, addressing the new challenges facing management in the tourism and hospitality sectors. The aim is therefore to develop a range of advanced and specialised skills in tourism and hospitality management, in line with the skills prioritised by the European Union: digital, green and social skills.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The postgraduate programme aims to develop valuable skills for roles in the field of SMART Transition in Tourism & Hospitality Management, namely: • To consider the tourism and hospitality value chain from a sustainable perspective, through sustainable principles, strategies, models, techniques and practices; • Using and applying digital and technological tools (data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual and augmented reality, amongst others) applied to management and operations within the industry; • Designing services and products that respect the principles of the circular economy; • Demonstrate and develop an agile mindset in terms of interpersonal communication and an inclusive understanding of the industry regarding accessibility, gender equality and cultural differences, both in the design and in the provision and delivery of services; • View change and the volatility of the industry as both an opportunity and a challenge in day-to-day operations.
